Live Music in Tulsa: Tunes @ Noon Spotlight featuring: Symon Hajjar, Billy Byrnes the Blues, and Casii Stephan

Discover the artists featured in The Church Studio’s Tunes @ Noon concert series, Tulsa’s signature midday live music experience.

Tunes @ Noon stands alone in Tulsa’s music scene. More than a concert series, it’s an artist showcase, community builder, and one of Tulsa’s few opportunities to experience live music during the workday inside the legendary Church Studio. Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from noon to 1 p.m., with occasional Featured Friday performances, audiences enjoy everything from blues and Americana to jazz, rock, folk, country, and singer-songwriters. No two shows are ever the same.

Your admission also includes a docent-led tour of The Church Studio, where you’ll explore the spaces that helped shape the Tulsa Sound and continue to inspire today’s artists. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere is welcoming, intimate, and uniquely Tulsa. Afterward, Studio Row is just outside the door, offering locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques worth exploring.

Here’s a look at three of the artists you might catch at Tunes @ Noon. Check the latest lineup on the Tunes @ Noon page and plan your visit.

Symon Hajjar, Hot Toast Music

Symon Hajjar wears a lot of hats: musician, songwriter, educator, storyteller, founder of Hot Toast Music Company, Grammy Recording Academy member, and champion of curiosity. Somehow, he manages to wear them all with enthusiasm, imagination, and the joyful spirit that has become his trademark.

Known to many as “Mr. Symon,” Hajjar creates music that balances heart, humor, and a healthy dose of silliness. Whether he’s performing at Tunes @ Noon, sharing stories from the stage, or turning a child’s question into a song, he has a remarkable talent for turning audiences into participants, inviting people to rediscover the creativity and wonder within themselves. His performances are warm, engaging, and often delightfully unpredictable, leaving plenty of room for laughter, reflection, and connection.

In addition to his appearances at Tunes @ Noon, Symon has spent the past four years partnering with The Church Studio and the Darby Foundation to help second-grade students from underserved Tulsa schools write, perform, and record their own original songs. For many students, it’s their first proof that big things are within reach. When you’ve written and recorded your own song at seven years old, it’s easy to believe there isn’t much you can’t do.

For Symon, music is more than entertainment. It’s a way to learn, connect, build community, and unlock creativity. In his world, every question is worth asking, every voice deserves to be heard, and every song begins with a spark of curiosity.  Watch Symon and the students perform “A Way to Get Along” live at The Church Studio:  “A Way to Get Along” by Symon Hajjar, Hot Toast Music and Students.

Billy Byrnes the Blues

Billy Byrnes the Blues has become a fan favorite at Tunes @ Noon, bringing a rich blend of blues, rock, soul, and decades of hard-earned musicianship to The Church Studio.

Guitarist Billy Byrnes has spent his career playing between Long Island and the West Coast as a bandleader, session guitarist, and working musician. Growing up on Long Island, he came of age in an extraordinary musical era, watching legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rory Gallagher, Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, Freddie King, and B.B. King perform live.

One of Billy’s favorite stories comes from Freddie King himself. During a show, Freddie motioned Billy to the stage, handed him his guitar, and after hearing him play, laughed and declared, “Billy burns the house down.” The nickname stuck.

Vocalist Laura Garrison brings a beautiful, soulful powerhouse voice shaped by years of performing blues, country, Tejano, and rock and roll. She discovered the blues while attending graduate school near Chicago before immersing herself in Austin’s legendary music scene.

Backed by bassist Russ Walz and drummer Evan Elsberry, Billy Byrnes the Blues delivers performances rooted in authenticity rather than imitation. Every show reflects a lifetime spent listening to, learning from, and living the blues. Whether tearing through an electric shuffle or settling into a soulful ballad, Billy’s masterful guitar work, Laura Garrison’s expressive vocals and elegant stage presence, and the band’s exceptional musicianship make every Tunes @ Noon performance memorable.

Casii Stephan

Casii Stephan didn’t come to Tulsa chasing fame. She arrived in 2014 intending to walk away from music altogether. Instead, Tulsa gave her back her voice.

Her sound moves through soul, pop, rock, and blues without settling into any one of them. It’s raw, emotionally direct, and unmistakably her own. Shortly after arriving in Tulsa, she wrote “Without a Box” while sitting beside a river, reflecting on a simple question: is life meant to hold tightly to what’s familiar, or flow toward something unknown? That same honesty runs through everything she creates. Onstage, she moves effortlessly between power and intimacy, making each performance feel personal.

Her songwriting has earned recognition in the International Songwriting Competition and the USA Songwriting Competition. This year, she was selected as an AmericanaFest showcase artist and reached the finalist round of Kerrville Folk Festival’s New Folk competition, one of the most respected songwriting contests in the country.

Stephan is currently preparing for the March 2027 release of her debut full-length album, Let Her Have Flowers, produced by Chad Copelin. Written over four years, the collection explores grief, love, loss, healing, and self-discovery through a blend of pop, R&B, Americana, and alternative influences.

At The Church Studio, Casii performs Leon Russell’s “A Song For You” on the legendary Dan Fogelberg grand piano. Offstage, she’s known for her warmth and generosity toward audiences, especially young fans.Watch Casii Stephan perform “A Song For You” live at The Church Studio:  Casii Stephan – “A Song For You” Live at The Church Studio
