Artist Spotlight: Symon Hajjar, Hot Toast Music

Symon Hajjar, Hot Toast Music

Symon Hajjar wears a lot of hats: musician, songwriter, educator, storyteller, founder of Hot Toast Music Company, Grammy Recording Academy member, and champion of curiosity. Somehow, he manages to wear them all with enthusiasm, imagination, and the joyful spirit that has become his trademark.

Known to many as “Mr. Symon,” Hajjar creates music that balances heart, humor, and a healthy dose of silliness. Whether he’s performing at Tunes @ Noon, sharing stories from the stage, or turning a child’s question into a song, he has a remarkable talent for turning audiences into participants, inviting people to rediscover the creativity and wonder within themselves. His performances are warm, engaging, and often delightfully unpredictable, leaving plenty of room for laughter, reflection, and connection.

In addition to his appearances at Tunes @ Noon, Symon has spent the past four years partnering with The Church Studio and the Darby Foundation to help second-grade students from underserved Tulsa schools write, perform, and record their own original songs. For many students, it’s their first proof that big things are within reach. When you’ve written and recorded your own song at seven years old, it’s easy to believe there isn’t much you can’t do.

For Symon, music is more than entertainment. It’s a way to learn, connect, build community, and unlock creativity. In his world, every question is worth asking, every voice deserves to be heard, and every song begins with a spark of curiosity.  Watch Symon and the students perform “A Way to Get Along” live at The Church Studio:  “A Way to Get Along” by Symon Hajjar, Hot Toast Music and Students.
